DATO' LIO CHEE YEONG DSPN, DJN
Dato’ Lio Chee Yeong obtained his LL.B. (Hons) degree from the University of London and thereafter qualified as a Barrister-At-Law of Middle Temple. He was admitted to the English Bar in year 1996 and was subsequently admitted to the Malaysian Bar in year 1997. He is also a qualified Mediator listed on the panel of certified mediators of the Bar Council Malaysian Mediation Centre. He is also a Notary Public appointed by the Attorney-General’s Chambers, Malaysia.
Since 2010, Dato’ Lio has been appointed as a Visiting Research Fellow of China-Asean Legal Research Centre which is initiated by China Law Society & South West University of Political Science & Law, China to enhance the understandings and to research the impact of the laws of China and Asean in order to promote trades and business for China Asean Free Trade Area (CAFTA).
Dato’ Lio has been appointed by Queen Margrethe the Second of Denmark as an Honorary Consul of Denmark in the states of Penang, Perlis and Kedah since 2012 and he holds the position till to date. Dato’ Lio is also the Honorary Consul of Norway.
Dato’ Lio is actively in providing legal aid and assistance to the general public and he is a member of the management committee of the Bar Council Legal Aid Centre, Penang Branch. Dato’ Lio Chee Yeong is also an accredited speaker for the Companies Commission of Malaysia to conduct seminars on Corporate Directors Training Program.

Dato’ Lio is also specialised in advising and involved actively in the revival and restructuring of various abandoned property development projects viz: Prangin Mall, Bayan Bay Mega Mall, Kompleks Adorna Diamond and Majestic Heights.
Dato’ Lio handles various civil, commercial and banking litigation matters. He is also familiar with corporate and commercial law, labour and industrial law, family law, probate and administration matters.
