Ms Wong Geen Gaik obtained her LL.B. (Hons.) degree from the University of Malaya in 2003 and was admitted to the Bar in the year of 2004. She was a Partner at M/s Wong-Chooi & Mohd Nor prior to joining our firm in 2009.

Geen Gaik has vast experience and knowledge in all types of conveyancing matters involving developer sale, sub-sale and corporate financing cases and she is very familiar with loan documentation involving local and foreign banks such as Malayan Banking Berhad, Public Bank Berhad, RHB Bank Berhad, CIMB Bank Berhad, Hong Leong Bank Berhad, Ambank (M) Berhad, Affin Bank Berhad, Alliance Bank Berhad, United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad and the former Citibank Berhad, including their Islamic Bank counterpart. She is also experienced in the drafting of wills, tenancy agreements and other legal documents.

Geen Gaik is also very proficient in the law of hire purchase. She handles hire purchase cases for Public Bank Berhad and Public Islamic Bank Berhad in recovery of hire-purchase loans, obtaining orders for delivery of vehicles under Section 42 Hire Purchase Act. She has also defended claims against the Bank, for example cases involving interpleader summons, claims by third parties against the Bank as the owner of the hire-purchase vehicle, etc. She has also been frequently requested by the Bank to render written opinions in relation to Hire Purchase Law including issues on jointed vehicles, defective vehicles, claims by third party, claims for Summons Under Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988, etc.

Geen Gaik is also proficient in other areas of banking litigation particularly in relation to recovery of retail and corporate loans amounting to millions of Ringgit, for RHB Bank Berhad, Malayan Banking Berhad and Public Bank Berhad. Geen Gaik’s other areas of expertise are in general litigation matters where she has handled arbitration proceedings, contentious probate actions, judicial reviews, injunction and winding up proceedings, distress, obtaining vesting order, cases involving debt recovery for goods sold and delivered and services rendered and others.
